Discarded glove

"A throw from the outfield hits the discarded glove of the wicket-keeper and the ball goes on to hit the stumps with the batsman out of his ground. Is the batsman Out?"

The batsman is Not out because the ball becomes automatically dead when it strikes the discarded glove. Any action after the hitting of the glove is ignored.

This is scenario is similar to the ball hitting a helmet which has been placed behind the wicket-keeper whilst not being worn by a fielder..
