International Institute of Cricket Umpiring & Scoring
Scoring
The Institute of Cricket Umpires and Scorers is planning a series of scoring courses for beginners during the summer of 2008 - no more draughty clubhouses in mid-winter!!
The course is aimed at young people who have no knowledge of scoring but who wish to learn and could become potential club scorers.
The course will consist of 3 two hour sessions introducing the learners to the scoring equipment required, methods of dismissal, umpires' signals and the entries in a scorebook. The latter will be demonstrated with inter-active computer simulations and progress will be assessed by the tutors.
The final assessment will consist of the learners scoring some of the overs of a real cricket match at their local club.
