Laws of Cricket

The Laws Advice Group under Stan Bennett - who is a member of theOwner: D Jones MCC Laws Sub Committee - is the Institute's expert technical advice, information and advisory service on all aspects of the correct interpretation and application of the Laws of Cricket both as set down in the MCC's 'Blue Book' and on how they are (differently) interpreted and applied under the ECB First Class International Cricket Council (ICC) Playing Regulations.

Through 'The Armchair Umpire' and 'Why's That?' sites on umpires.tv, the Institute promotes the Laws Advice Group as the recognised, internationally readily accessible, 'first-call-source' from which not only its members, but also cricket journalists, pundits, television and radio commentators and members of the public can readily obtain immediate expert information, clarification and advice on all aspects of the interpretation and application of the Laws of Cricket.
