Cowdrey Cup - rules

  • Matches shall be 55 overs per innings, with a maximum of 11 overs per bowler

  • Matches will start at 11am, with lunch at 1pm and tea 30 overs into the second innings

  • Points shall be awarded as follows -
           8 points for a win
           4 points each for a tie or abandoned match

    Bonus points will be awarded as follows -
           1/2 point each for - 150 runs, 175 runs, 200 runs and 225 runs
           1/2 point each for - 4 wickets, 6 wickets, 8 wickets and 10 wickets

  • Fielding circles will be in place, with 4 fielders inside at all times

  • Umpires should be instructed to sensibly and consistently apply the rules on one day wides

  • In the event of time being lost to rain, the attached guidelines (Duckworth - Lewis) should be used to re-schedule the game, but should not be used to decide the game.
    The minimum requirement is that the side batting second should receive 30 overs and the match be completed (i.e. the final overs of the second innings are bowled)

  • Masters and professionals are responsible for the behaviour of their boys on the field. In the interest of maintaining standards of discipline on the pitch any instances of poor behaviour should be reported to the coaches in charge so that they can take action
